At Milestone Financial Planning, we believe everyone deserves clear, transparent financial advice and services. We proudly operate under the fiduciary standard, which means we are always committed to acting in your best interest. Our advice, recommendations, and services are focused entirely on what’s right for you, without commissions or outside incentives influencing the guidance you receive.
Our goal is simple: provide clear, transparent, and trustworthy advice. As a fiduciary firm, we are committed to putting your best interest first in every recommendation we make.
For information about our fee structure please refer to the sections below and our ADV.
What Does “Fee-Only” Mean?
“Fee-only” means there are no hidden incentives behind our advice.
No commissions. No product sales. No third-party compensation.
Just straightforward financial guidance designed around your goals.
This structure allows us to build long-term relationships with our clients, grounded in trust, transparency, and alignment.
How We Work with Clients
We work with clients in two primary ways, both designed for ongoing, long-term relationships, depending on the level of support you’re looking for.
Ongoing Financial Planning & Investment Management
For clients who want a fully integrated approach, we provide ongoing financial planning and investment management as a combined service.
This includes:
- Investment management and portfolio oversight
- Retirement and tax planning
- Cash flow and distribution strategies
- Ongoing advice and proactive guidance
Ongoing Financial Planning
For clients who are looking for ongoing advice and planning—but prefer to manage their own investments or keep them elsewhere—we offer financial planning as a standalone, ongoing service.
This includes:
- Personalized financial and tax planning
- Ongoing advice and check-ins
- Strategy updates as your life evolves
Fees:
- Monthly subscription: custom pricing based on complexity and level of ongoing support, with fees ranging from $800-$8,000 per month that are billed in arrears.
While there is no required minimum timeframe, we anticipate that financial planning clients will transition to an ongoing investment management relationship over time.
Tiered Fee Schedule:
Our fee is billed quarterly after services are provided and is based on the average daily balance of the assets we manage for you. Our tiered structure means that as your portfolio grows, your marginal fee rate decreases.
| Assets Under Management ($) | Annual Fee (%) |
|---|---|
| First $1 million | 1.00% |
| Next $2 million ($1-3M) | 0.80% |
| Next $3 million ($3-6M) | 0.60% |
| Next $4 million ($6-10M) | 0.40% |
| Next $5 million ($10-15M) | 0.35% |
| Everything else ($15M +) | 0.30% |
Additional Costs
As a fee-only firm, we do not earn commissions. However, there are some standard third-party costs associated with investing, including:
- Custodial fees (e.g., Fidelity)
- Mutual fund and ETF internal expenses
- Certain transaction or account-related fees
We take these costs into account when making recommendations and aim to keep your overall investment expenses as efficient as possible.
How Our Fees Align with You
Our fee structure is designed to align our success with yours.
For clients with assets under management, our fee grows as your portfolio grows, and decreases when it declines.
For planning clients, fees are based on the level of advice and complexity, ensuring you receive the appropriate level of support as your needs evolve.
In both cases, our focus remains the same: helping you make confident financial decisions over time.
Choosing a fee-only financial planner means choosing transparency, alignment, and a long-term partnership.
If you’re looking for objective financial advice, a relationship built on trust, and a clear understanding of what you’re paying and why,
we’d be happy to talk.
The way a financial advisor gets paid can directly impact the guidance you receive. Here’s how a fee-only financial planner differs from the traditional model.
